In a recent tour throughout Europe, Nick Oliveri performed 17 shows in 18 days with his band, Mondo Generator, promoting the album Hell Comes To Your Heart and at the same time he gifted fans with an acoustic show in some cities across Europe.
Nick is restless. Even though he had a serious car accident last June, when he totaled his vehicle, he spent only five hours in the hospital, he got the energy to go on tour in Alaska only nine days heafter the accident, with some remnants glasses of the accident jammed into his head. In Alaska, he performed a few shows and started the project of the new band The Situationalists in partnership with Lowell George Granath and Cody Kniceley.
Always friendly with fans, Nick ain’t scared of your audience. Drinking beer and hangin out with his fans as they were old friends. He gives autographs and poses for pictures, always smiling and being available for everyone.
During an exclusive interview with Brazilian press, Nick talked about how partnerships and friendships are important to his life. He explained how his friends Hoss Wright, Ian Taylor and Mike Pygmie became partners in Mondo Generator. He also commented on the partnership and admiration for Alain Johannes, their participation at Loading Data‘s album Double Disc Animal Style and his presentation along with the band at Glazart Festival in France. Besides, he also spoke with enthusiasm of the three times he went to Brazil and the wish of going back there with his new projects. With humor, Nick made a joke about a police car which was passing down the road: “They’re coming to get me”.
When talking about the future, Nick shared details of his new projects; his project with Philthy Phil and The Situationalists. He also talks about the project with the band Sun Trash along with Sean Wheeler and Lightnin ‘ Woodcock, already in studio, and the Mondo’s new album, which was going to be recorded as soon as Mondo’s European tour ended.
